Richard Ravich, CPOA, BSVFB, Big Sur CERT
Richard Ravich is a long time resident of Big Sur. The mountains running into the ocean, the redwoods reaching to the sky and the seasonal fog flowing over the hilltops are some of the magical elements that set the scene. The spirit of the place sets the state of mind and a unique community of people settles the heart.
The privilege of living in this wonderful place brought Richard to give back to the community by volunteering his time and energy as a board member of the Monterey Fire Safe Council, the Big Sur Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Coast Property Owners Association and others. He helped form the Big Sur Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) after the Basin Complex Fire of 2008 and works on a number of various committees including one developing the Monterey County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (MCCWPP).
