Lynne Semeria, Carmel Highlands Community Fire Safe Committee
Lynne has lived in the Carmel Highlands for 10 years. She helped establish the Highlands Community Fire Safe Committee that includes other local Highlands residents, Carmel Highlands Fire District and CAL FIRE personnel. The HCFSC has recently received funding for two grants; one to write a Community Wildfire Protection Plan and develop community firewise education workshops, and another to sustain the successful Carmel Highlands Chipper Program.
Lynne has participated in the development of the Monterey County Community Wildfire Protection Plan. She is on the Monterey Fire Safe Council Board of Directors, and is a member of CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
In a previous life, Lynne was a high school special education teacher.
