Fire Safe Council For Monterey County (FSCMC) has developed a free online workshop, Wildfire and You, that you can take at any time, which shows you how to help protect your life and home in event of a wildfire by:
Planning for evacuation,
Reducing vegetation to create effective defensible space, and
Hardening your home to make it less likely to ignite during a wildfire.
You can go to the Wildfire and You workshop by clicking here. Once there, if you have not yet enrolled in the workshop, click on the Enroll for free button, then create a free account, or, if you already have an account click on the "I already have an account!" link and log in.
Wildfires are a fact of life in California and can affect all of us, but seniors and disabled are at higher risk. It’s essential for this population and the people who care for them to give a lot of thought on how best to prepare for wildfires, before they start.
