Embers / Ignition


​In the event of a wildfire, embers are the leading cause of home ignition. They can blow miles from the main fire and if they land on or near your house, they can ignite a new fire. Nearby vegetation, pine needles on the roof, or leaves accumulated in gutters can all serve as potential ignition sources. Embers can get inside a home through broken windows or certain types of vents, this is why it is important to take the necessary steps to prevent this from occurring. ​
